Daily Freeman Journal, Monday, June 24, 1996

Dorothy Hoversten, 83, Radcliffe, died Sunday, June 23, 1996, at the Hamilton County Public Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Williams, with Rev. Stan Peterson officiating. Burial will be at the Williams Cemetery, west of Williams. Visitation will be at Foster Funeral Home after 5 p.m. Tuesday until 8 a.m. Wednesday, when the casket will be taken to the church.

Dorothy Tempel, daughter of Joe and Hilka Welp Tempel, was born Oct 21, 1912, in Kamrar. She attended rural schools in that area. On Aug. 29, 1936, she married Gaylord Hoversten in Williams. The couple farmed in the Williams and Radcliffe area. She had been employed at Hawkeye Mink in Jewell and the Daily Bar in Ellsworth.

She is survived by her husband, Gaylord; daughters and sons-in-law, Eleanor and Russell Anders, Connie and John Keane, all of Williams; sons and daughters-in-law, Gerold and Patricia Hoversten, Rodney and Marcia Hoversten, all of Radcliffe; 15 grandchildren; 16 greatgrandchildren; brothers, Virgil Tempel, Jewell, Elton Tempel, Kamrar, Joe Tempel, Webster City; sisters, Katie Hassebrock, Jewell, Margurite Arends, Naomi Park, both of Webster City, Ruth Anderson, Iowa Falls; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Martin Hoversten; brothers, John, Richard, Harold and Donald Tempel.
