Gaylord Hoversten, 90, Iowa Falls, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000 at the Scenic Manor Care Center in Iowa Falls. Funeral services will be held at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Williams, with Rev. Tom Hunt officiating. Burial will be the Williams Cemetery, west of Williams. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday and after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Gaylord Orville Hoversten, son of Thomas and Anna Anderson Hoversten, was bom Dec. 15, 1909 at Williams. He attended rural school in Rose Grove Township and started farming southwest of Williams. On August 29, 1936, he married Dorothy Tempel at Williams. The couple farmed in the Williams and Radcliffe area. They retired in 1975. Mrs. Hoversten died June 23, 1996. He moved to Scenic Manor in May of 1998.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Eleanor and Russell Anders, Connie and John Keane, all of Williams, sons and daughters-in-law, Gerold and Patricia Hoversten, Rodney and Marcia Hoversten, all of Radcliffe, 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, brother Glen Hoversten of Afton, sisters, Edna Everman, Birdie Inks, and Hazel Westwick, all of Iowa Falls; nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Martin Dean Hoversten, sister Alice Mathias, brothers Willard, Chester and Ernest Hoversten.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Williams and served as a trustee and deacon.
