Funeral services for Mrs. Steve Gordon, 59, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster funeral home with the Rev. R. D. Kitterman officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery. Mrs. Gordon, a longtime Webster City resident, died at 6:30 a.m. Saturday at her home, 1529 Division St.
Mabel Pearl Dingman, daughter of Cyrus and Sarah Dingman, was born Nov. 24, 1900, on a farm near Homer. When she was seven years old, she moved with her mother to Webster City, where she was educated in the Webster City schools.
She was united in marriage Feb. 10, 1922, to Raymond Peckinpaugh, and to this union five children were born: Gayland Peckinpaugh of Anderson, Ind., Gerald and Ray Peckinpaugh, both of Middletown, Ind., Kenneth Peckinpaugh of Fort Collins, Colo., and Mrs. Warren (Miriam) Hathway of Des Moines.
Mr. and Mrs. Peckinpaugh made their home in Sulphur Springs, Ind., until May, 1939, when they moved to Webster City. Mr. Peckinpaugh died July 16, 1940.
She was united in marriage to Steve Gordon, May 8, 1946, and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon had since made their home in Webster City.
Besides her children, she is survived by her husband; six step-children, David Gordon of Mt. Clemens, Mich., John and Gene Gordon, both of Moline, Ill., Mrs. Robert (Helen) Harris of Webster City; Fred Peckinpaugh of Noblesville, Ind., and Samuel Peckinpaugh of Anderson, Ind.; 27 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters, Mrs. Newt Wilson of Eagle Grove, Joe Dingman of Redwood City, Calif., Mrs. Phinis Noe of Northwood, Iowa, Mrs. John Stanger, Albert Dingman and William Dingman, all of Webster City.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
Mrs. Gordon was a member of the Methodist church.
