Taken from a scrapbook compiled by Lois Elaine Anderson Thompson that is located at the Ellsworth Library, Ellsworth, Iowa

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 25, at 2:00 p.m. for Martin Risetter, 77. They will be held at the Trinity Lutheran church with the Rev. Orville Sanderson officiating. Mr. Risetter passed away at 7:00 a.m., June 23, 1958, at the Story City hospital where he was taken Sunday afternoon. Death was attributed to ulceration and complications of old age.

The body will be cremated.

Mr. Risetter was born September 29, 1881 at Lee, Ill. He came to Ellsworth as a boy of 12. He was a painter, also served as guard at the Federal prisons at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas and Atlanta, Georgia. He was united in marriage to Blanche M. Olsen April 24, 1940. He was employed at the Farmers Elevator here and retired in 1945.

Mr. Risetter was with the army of occupation in the Philippines during the Philippine Insurrection. He was also in recruiting duty during World War I at Mason City, Iowa and Omaha and Grand Island, Neb.

He leaves his wife, who is postmistress here, also two sisters, Mrs. Henry Thompson of Blue Earth, Minn., and Mrs. Elmer Olson of Jewell.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran church and also of the American Legion.

Pallbearers were Gary Severson, Udell Olson, Harlen Thompson, Earl Thompson, Kenneth Severson and Donald Severson.

Singers were Mrs. Leonard Lindebak, Mrs. Merlyn Olson, Homer Danielson and Harris Twedt, Jr. with Mrs. Dwayne Hill at the organ.
