Mrs. Holden Thompson, who had been seriously ill at a hospital in Minneapolis for the past several months passed away last Saturday, Sept. 4, 1926. The remains were brought to Ellsworth, and funeral services were conducted at the Lutheran church on Tuesday of this week, Rev. C.J. Naglestad having charge. Interment was made in Greenwood cemetery.

Anna Cragwick Thompson, daughter of Amund and Julia Cragwick, was born Dec. 6, 1859 at Lee, Ill. In 1876 she moved to Iowa with her parents. On Oct. 30, 1878, she was married to Mr. Holden Thompson. They settled on a farm three miles east of Ellsworth where they lived until 1904 when they moved to the town of Ellsworth, where they resided until 1916 at which time her husband passed away.

To this union four children were born, three of whom are surviving her, namely: Henry of Minot, N.D.; Amos of Minneapolis, Minn.; and Mrs. E.B. Tyler of Ellsworth, Iowa. A daughter, Sylvina, died in infancy. Besides these she leaves to mourn her loss, one brother, Mr. O.A. Cragwick of Ellsworth, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. J.O. Lenning of Duluth, Minn.; seven grandchildren and numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

The latter years she divided her time between the homes of her daughter at Ellsworth and her son at Minneapolis. She was taken sick at Minneapolis in December, 1925, and was taken to a hospital in March, 1926, at which place she passed away Sept. 4, 1926, at the age of 66 years, 8 months and 28 days. Her last days were marked with gradual increasing weakness, though she suffered no intense pain. She spoke calmly and serenely of approaching dissolution and rejoiced in the passing to the land of the glorified, praising her Savior for the victory that was her own through Christ Jesus. She was conscious to the end. While she fought a good fight, and finished her course beautifully through faith in her redeemer, her gain is our loss. The community and church has lost a valuable and beloved member. She loved all that was good. She was a cheerful giver to the cause of Christ. She will be missed in her church and mission society. Her kindly and gentle spirit afforded evidence of a walk with God in the school of her Master. She learned to lean on his staff, and it sustained her to the end. Blessed by her memory.
