Verda Beatrice Thompson, 88, of Story City died of a heart ailment Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1994, at Mary Greeley Medical Center at Ames, Iowa. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bethel Lutheran Church in Story City of which she was a member. Burial will be made in Mt. Olive Cemetery at Randall.
Mrs. Thompson, a homemaker, was born in Randall to Peder and Carrie (Fender) Egland, December 16, 1905. She has lived in Story City since 1967.
Survivors include four sons, Durwood of Muscatine, Kenneth of Loveland, Colo., Richard of Carlsbad, Calif. and Arthur of Riverside, Calif., a sister, Stella Christianson of Radcliffe; 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home in Story City, where the family will be present from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
