Archie Olson, 79, died April 29, 1975 at Des Moines, Iowa. He was born near Randall on September 28, 1895 one of eight children born to Martin and Belle (Egland) Olson. He was baptized at Elim Lutheran church, Randall, and later confirmed his Christian faith at Elim Lutheran on November 6, 1910.

He attended the Randall school. He served in World War I, during which one brother, Clarence, was killed.

He was married on Dec. 28, 1933 to Rachael Evangeline Martin in Burlington, Iowa. To this marriage there were six children born: Esther Arlene, Romona Emily, Arthur Martin, Sally Louise, Edward Glenn and Dan Archie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Clarence, one son, Edward. He is survived by five children and 12 grandchildren; four sisters, Myra (Mrs. Affalter) of Plattsburg, MO.; Genora (Mrs. Carl Larson) of Kenyon, MN., Grace (Mrs. Archie Jacobson) of Story City and Beatrice (Mrs. Teuben Greiman) of Jewell, and three brothers, Floyd of Jewell, Milo of Randall and Clifford of Ellsworth.

A funeral service honoring the memory of Archie Olson was held at Elim Lutheran Church, Randall, IA., on Thursday, May 1, 1975, with Pastor Donald L. Berg officiating. Delbert Quam was the soloist, accompanied by Sharon Quam at the organ. She also accompanied the congregation in the singing of one hymn. The service of committal was held at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Randall.
