The surrounding community was saddened Sat. morning when word was passed around that Adolph LeRoy Anfinson had passed away Saturday morning, March 24th, 1923 at 1:00 o'clock. Death came following an illness of several weeks with influenza and complications. Friday he appeared better and hopes were entertained for his recovery. However, the same evening he took a sudden turn for the worst, and gradually sank, until death claimed him. It seems sad when one so young is taken from a home but God in his wisdom has found a better place for him where pain and sorrow are not known. But his life will continue to live, nevertheless, because of the kind words and deeds that have gone out from his life while here upon earth.

LeRoy was the oldest son of a family of four children. He was born to George and Cora Anfinson, May 26th, 1909 at Randall, and passed away at the age of 13 years, 9 months and 26 days. He leaves to mourn his death his mother, stepfather, sister, Mildred, half brother and half sister, Raymond and Geneva, besides a host of other relatives. When he was four years of age, he moved to Canada, where his father passed away. Shortly after his father's death he returned to Randall, where he spent the rest of his life.

His death was truly a heart-breaking blow to the parents, sisters and brother. The deceased was of a very cheerful disposition and had many friends.

The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon conducted at the parental home at 1:30 o'clock and at 2:00 o'clock at Elim Lutheran church, by Rev. G.O. Paulsrud. The body was laid to rest in Mount Olive Cemetery north of town. The pallbearers were Leroy's classmates: Milo Olson, Waldo Egland, Lewis Matson, Selmer Tjernagel, Norman Hoveland and Sherman Thompson. Many sorrowing friends and relatives were in attendance at the last sad rites. Many beautiful floral decorations adorned the casket as expressions of deep sympathy in this hour of sorrow.
