The Rev. C. E. Eslick, 63, died Tuesday evening at the Hamilton County hospital. He had been in failing health the past four years but more seriously ill the past month.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Foster funeral home with the Rev. Ralph Thompson officiating and with burial in the McGuire Bend cemetery near Dayton.

Claris Edwin Eslick, son of Walter and Mary Eslick, was born Jan. 10, 1901, on a farm near Homer. When he was a small boy, he moved with his parents to a farm in Yell township near Dayton. He received his schooling in the Dayton schools, being graduated there in 1921

He was united in marriage Oct. 22, 1927, to Della Draper and the couple farmed for several years near Dayton.

In 1947, they moved to Kamrar where Mr. Eslick owned and operated a grocery store. In 1954 he entered the ministry as a pastor of the Free Methodist church and served as a pastor in several communities in Wisconsin.

In October, [year hard to read], the family moved to Webster City and had since resided at 1441 First St.

He is survived by his wife, two sons and three daughters, Daryl Eslick of Webster City, Lowell Eslick of Beaver Dam, Wis., Mrs. Glen (LaVonne) Claude of Vincent, Iowa, Mrs. Gerhardt (Neva) Masche of Beaver Dam and Paula Eslick at home. Also surviving are nine grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Eileen) Long of Lehigh, and Mrs. Irene Richardson of Dayton.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a member of the Free Methodist church.
