Funeral services for Vallie K. Johnson, 82, will be held Tuesday, Feb 9 at 1.30 p.m. in the Trinty Lutheran Church at Ellsworth with burial to be in Homewood Cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 3-9 p.m.

Mrs. Johnson died Thursday, Feb. 4 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Vallie Knutson, daughter of Martin and Anna Marie Marcus Knutson, was born Nov. 30, 1905 at Heron, Minn.

She lived her entire life in the Ellsworth area, graduating from high school there. She married Roy J. Ahrens on July 5, 1924. He died in 1973.

She married Clarence (Kelly) Johnson on Dec. 26, 1974.

She worked as a telephone operator and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Love Circle, and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors her husband, three sisters, Ardis Ridgway and Stella Vaubel, both of West Des Moines, and Mary Duesler of Charleston, S.C.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, her parents, a stepfather and two brothers.
