Mrs. Inez Ahrens, 68, of Ellsworth, died Saturday at the Story City Memorial hospital following a stroke suffered at her home.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist church in Ellsworth with the Rev. B. Dean Hokel officiating and with burial in the Homewood cemetery at Ellsworth.

There will be visitation this evening at the Becker funeral home in Jewell.

Inez Schwartz, daughter of Edward and August Furstenau Schwartz, was born April 2, 1916 at Radcliffe. She was graduated from the Radcliffe schools.

On June 25, 1939 she was married to Arthur (Bud) Ahrens at Paris, Ark. The couple resided in the Ellsworth area and she served as a cook for the South Hamilton schools for 25 years, being head cook for a number of years, retiring three years ago.

She is survived by her husband; one son, Ronald of Norwalk; three grandsons; one sister, Mrs. Bonnie Johnson of Jewell.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Mrs. Frieda Tietz; and three brothers, Roy, Ike and Walter Schwartz.
