Howard Adix, 91, Ellsworth, died Feb. 5, 1996 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral arrangements will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Becker Funeral home in Jewell, with Rev. Priscilla Camarin officiating. Burial will follow at Homewood Cemetery in Ellsworth. Visitation will be this afternoon and evening at the funeral home in Jewell. The family will be present from 3 to 5 p.m.

Howard Adix, son of L.C. and Rosetta Phipps Adix, was born Aug. 13, 1904, at Ogden. He grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School. On April 4, 1932, he married Gwendolyn Stephens in Kansas City, Kan. The couple moved to the Ellsworth area in 1945 and farmed south and east of town. He retired in 1969, and then they moved to Ellsworth in 1982.

He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn Adix, Ellsworth; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Ruth Adix, Nevada, Stan and Janet Adix, Ellsworth; daughter and son-in-law, Rosalyn and Harland Butler, Webster City; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and brother, Robert Adix, Victoria, Texas. He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.

Mr. Adix was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ellsworth.
