Charles E. Neese, 56, Hudson, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at the Covenant Medical Center, following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Locke Funeral Home in Waterloo. Graveside services will be held at Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, at 2 p.m. Friday with military rites by American Legion Post 191. The family will receive friends at the Church of Christ following burial for fellowship.

Charles Edward Neese, son of Wayne and Sophie Oakland Neese, was born April 5, 1944 at Webster City. He graduated from Blairsburg High School in 1962. He served in the U.S. Air Force during two tours of duty in Vietnam. He married Marilyn Melling in 1968. They later divorced. He married Linda Schipper. The couple later divorced. He owned and operated Chuck's Standard Station from 1971 to 1980 in Hudson and most recently worked for Bill Colwell Ford in Hudson.

Survivors are his sons, Mike Neese of Davenport, Mark Neese of Cedar Falls, mother Sophie Neese, Webster City, sisters JoAnn Mellinger, Webster City, and Jerrine Cayler, Galt; two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and a nephew.
