Blanche May Olsen Risetter, 98, died Friday, July 24 at the Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 28 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellsworth. Rev. Ron Feuerhak will officiate and burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Ellsworth.

She was born on April 29, 1889 on a farm near Ellsworth, the daughter of Nels Peter and Julia Sexe Olsen. She graduated from Ellsworth High School and the Iowa State Teachers College. Mrs. Risetter taught school at Paullina and Emmetsburg. In 1934, she was named postmistress at the Ellsworth post office, retiring in 1960.

She married Martin Risetter on April 24, 1940 at Des Moines.

Survivors are four nieces and three nephews, including Patty Yungclas of Webster City and Neil Olsen of Blairsburg.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the TLCW, as well as the Eastern Star and American Legion Auxiliary. She was a former member of the library board.

Mrs. Risetter was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters and one brother.
