Bessie Olthoff, 84, died Wednesday, July 22, 1987, at the Fairview Nursing Home in Dodge Center, Minn.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 27, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in West Concord, Minn., with the Rev. David Brown officiating.

There will be a visitation held Monday at the Becker Funeral Home in Jewell from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., followed by the interment in the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery in Jewell.

Mrs. Mabel Olthoff was born Jan. 18, 1903, to Iver and Gurie (Olson) Hanson in Stanhope. She married Leonard Egland, who died in 1938. She married Joseph Olthoff in 1946 and they lived in California where she worked as a cook. He died in 1965.

Olthoff made her home in the West Concord area the past 15 years, where she attended the West Concord United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the South Star Club, the West Concord Saddle Club and was active in senior citizen activities.

She is survived by sons Kenneth Egland of Rochester, Minn., and Marion Egland of Sand Point, Idaho; daughter Mrs. Virginia Gartner of Claremont, Minn.; one brother Virgil Hanson of Story City and two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Satre and Mrs. Weldon (Gertrude) Stark, both of Des Moines; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
