E. B. TYLER, 53, DIES AT HOME IN ELLSWORTH

County Supervisor in Failing Health for Two Years

Supervisor Ernie B. Tyler, 53, died at his home in Ellsworth at 8:25 a.m. Wednesday, death being caused by tuberculosis. He had been in failing health the past two years, but he was in Webster City Jan. 2 and 3 to attend meetings of the Hamilton county board of supervisors.

His death was not unexpected, however, for his condition had been considered serious for some time. He had received medical treatment at Iowa City on different occasions.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the home for the family, and at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran church in Ellsworth. Burial will be made in Homewood cemetery, Ellsworth, with Fleenor, of Jewell, in charge.

Mr. Tyler leaves his wife, the former Synda Thompson, whom he married in Ellsworth in 1913, two sons, A. L. Tyler and H. A. Tyler, of Ellsworth, and a daughter, Marjorie, also of Ellsworth.

He was born in Leland, Ill., [September 13, 1888] where he grew to young manhood. He moved to a farm east of Ellsworth in 1906 and lived there until a year ago when he retired and moved into Ellsworth.

He was widely known in the Ellsworth community where he took a prominent part in community activities. He had been a township trustee and was a member of the Farm Bureau. He was also a member of Trinity Lutheran church.

He began his first term as county supervisor from the third district Jan. 2, 1930, succeeding the late Harm Klaver. He was beginning his third time this year.

He made an excellent record on the board. While ever watchful for the interests of his own district, he had at heart the best interests of Hamilton county as a whole. Endowed with excellent business judgment, he gave unsparingly of his time and talents as long as his health would permit.

Other members of the board are F. E. Lundell, of Stratford, and O. K. Herrald, of Webster City.

The law provides that his successor will be named by a committee composed of County Aud. L. L. Doolittle, County Clerk H. O. Cutler and County Recorder A. L. Nelson
