Ernest Detje, 79, of the Ellsworth-Hubbard area, died last evening at Mary Greeley hospital. He had been a resident of the Stratford Care Center prior to his hospitalization.

Funeral services have been tentatively scheduled for Monday at the Trinity Lutheran church in Ellsworth with the Rev. Harvey Sigurdson officiating and with burial in Greenwood cemetery at Ellsworth. Becker Funeral home has charge of the services.

Ernest Detje, was born Oct. 18, 1900 in Germany, and had been a butcher, being located at Alta Vista for many years and later at Hubbard.

He was married in 1942 at Webster City to Clara Sogard.

He is survived by his wife; a resident at the Stratford Care Center, and several nieces and nephews.

He was a member of the Lutheran faith.
