JEWELL - Harold T. Sogard, 71, Ellsworth, died Sunday noon at Mary Greeley hospital where he had been a patient for three days following a heart attack.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at Trinity Lutheran church in Ellsworth with the Rev. Harvey Sigurdson officiating and with burial in Greenwood cemetery at Ellsworth. The body will lie in state at the Becker funeral home until 9 a.m. Wednesday when it will be taken to the church.

He was born Sept. 3, 1904, the son of Simon and Anna Larson Sogard. He had been in the feed business for 30 years.

He was married June 14, 1934 at Des Moines to Melva Porter. He was preceded in death by his wife May 13, 1975.

He is survived by 12 children; Robert of Burlington, Jack of Hampton, Marilyn Knutson of Litchfield, Ill., Kathryn Miner of Des Moines, Donald of St. Petersburg, Fla., Dean of Jewell, Gail of Wichita Falls, Texas, Margery Sumberg of Denver, Colo., Allyn of Webb, Iowa, Ramon of Ellsworth, Gary of Oslo, Norway and Ann Thoreson of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Also surviving are three sisters, Mable Manning of Hubbard, Selma Shade of Ellsworth and Clara Detje of Ellsworth.
