ELLSWORTH - Mrs. Simon Sogard, 83, died Monday evening at 7:05 at her home in Ellsworth. Death followed a stroke suffered six weeks ago, since which time she had been confined to her bed.

Funeral services will be Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Trinity Lutheran church in Ellsworth, with the Rev. C.J. Naglestad officiating. Robbins funeral service of Ellsworth is in charge. Burial will be in the Greenwood cemetery.

Survivors include two sins: Silas and Harold of Ellsworth. Also three daughters: Mrs. Merle (Selma) Shade, Ellsworth; Mrs. A. W. (Mabel) Manning, Hubbard; and Mrs. Ernest (Clara) Detje, Alva Vista. There are 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death.

Mrs. Sogard had lived in the Ellsworth vicinity since 1901. She was a charter member of the Trinity church.

[Anna Louise Sogard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Larson, was born April 10, 1868, on a farm near Lee Station, Ill. When she was six years old she came to Iowa.

On March 17, 1887 she was married to Simon Sogard at the church here and they lived in Forest City for several years. They also lived in Webster City for five years and then came to Ellsworth 50 years ago.

There were five children, the oldest son, Henry, having passed away at the age of 11. Mr. Sogard died in 1929.]
