Funeral services were held today for Olger Lenning, 78, a longtime resident of the Ellsworth community.

Rites were conducted at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran church in Ellsworth with burial made in Evergreen cemetery at Jewell.

The Soderstrum Funeral home of Story City was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lenning died Friday at the Hamilton County hospital.

[Olger Lenning, Sr., 78, Ellsworth, died at the Hamilton County Hospital, Webster City, Iowa, Friday evening, September 7, 1973.

Mr. Lenning was born Dec. 4, 1894 in Ellsworth to Andrew K. and Martha Lenning. On Jan. 6, 1915 he married Bertha Streuber, who died Aug. 26, 1938. In June 1944 he married Erma Paggett who died March 23, 1973. Mr Lenning retired in 1960 and he and his wife were cottage parents at the Toledo Juvenile Home for several years.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lela Quam, Story City; a son, Olger Lenning, Jr., Story City, 21 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; three stepsons, Donald Paggett, Lubbock, Tx.; Bill Paggett, Waterloo; and Larry Paggett, Aberdeen, S.D.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Violet Tjernagel, Willmar, Minn.; Mrs. Betty Doolittle, Story City and two brothers, Gerhaet, Allison; and Leonard, Story City and two sisters, Mrs. Belinda Rasmussen, Webster City and Mrs. Gova Jensen, San Diego, Ca.]
