LEONARD EGLAND, AGE 40, DIES AT HOME IN JEWELL

JEWELL - Leonard Egland, 40, who had been seriously ill the past ten days with pneumonia and a kidney ailment, died at his home Saturday evening at 6:30 o'clock.

Funeral services will be tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the home and at 2 o'clock at the Lutheran church with the Rev. Carl Opsahl officiating. Fleenor's of Jewell, in charge.

Mr. Egland was born and reared at Jewell and attended the Jewell school. He had been farming near Jewell, the past few years. He leaves his wife and three children, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Egland, of Jewell, a brother, Casper, of Nevada, and a sister, Mrs. Glen Stark of Stanhope.

[Leonard N. Egland, son of Carl and Christina Egland, was born October 21, 1898 and died at Jewell, Iowa, February 12, 1938, at the age of 39 years, 3 months and 21 days.

He was married February 28, 1923, to Bessie Hanson, at the parsonage of St. Paul's Lutheran church. To this union three children were born. He is survived by his wife and three children, Kenneth, Marion and Virginia.]
