Martin Olson, 85, died Saturday at the Still Hospital in Des Moines where he had been a patient for five months.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Immanuel church in Story City. Burial will be in the Mt. Olive cemetery at Randall.

Mr. Olson was born in Denmark [March 27, 1874], coming to Iowa when he was 7 years old. He farmed near Randall until nine years ago, when he moved to Des Moines where he had been making his home with his son, Archie Olson.

Surviving are four sons, Archie of Des Moines; Milo of Randall; Floyd of Jewell and Clifford of George, Iowa; four daughters, Mrs. Archie Jacobson, Story City, Mrs. Reuben Greiman, Jewell, Mrs. Carl Larson of Kenyon, Minn., and Mrs. Clyde Affolter of Plattsburg, Mo.; 24 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren and four brothers, Chris and Nels Olson of Randall; Pete of Elmore, Minn., and John Olson of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Belle [Egland] and one son.

Mr. Olson was a lifetime member of Elim church at Randall.
