Leonard "Bud" Beisner, Jr., 53, Little Rock, Ark., died July 8, 1997 at his home. Funeral services were held on July 11 at Huson Chapel in North Little Rock, Ark., with Rev. Don Sawyer officiating. Following the service, military rites were conducted at Little Rock National Cemetery, where he was laid to rest.

Leonard A. Beisner, Jr., son of Leonard and Jennie (Tapper) Beisner, was born Nov. 30, 1943 in Williams. He graduated from Williams High School in 1961. At that time he joined the U.S. Navy, received his education in aviation, and was then assigned to the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier, and was sent to Vietnam. Completing four years of service, he transferred to Air-Navy and spent 10 more years in the military. On Nov. 27, 1967 he married Karen Biggs of Webster City. They had two sons. In 1975 he accepted a position with Lockhead International Aviation and spent six years in Saudi Arabia. After returning to the United States, he settled in Arkansas, where he was employed by Stewart Aviation. In 1992, he married Elizabeth Kronnick of North Little Rock, Ark. They had one daughter.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; his daughter, Jennifer, North Little Rock, Ark.; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Todd and Gina Beisner, and Scott Beisner, all of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister and brother-in-law, Shary and Al Caruth, Dows; and a nephew and grand niece, Culley and Shay Caruth, Williams.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren, Courtney and Nicholas Beisner, and a nephew, Ky Alan Caruth.

Mr. Beisner was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, at Vernon Lutheran Church, of rural Dows, where he remained a life-long member.
