Leonard A. Beisner, 72, longtime Williams resident, died Friday at his home in Williams.

Funeral services will be held at the Vernon Lutheran church near Dows at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday with the Pastor Roger Dykstra and Pastor David Anderson officiating and with burial in the Vernon Lutheran cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Surls Funeral chapel in Williams.

Leonard A. Beisner, son of Herman C. and Augusta Baumann Beisner, was born Jan. 14, 1913 at the Beisner farm home near Dows in Wright county.

He was married to Jennie Tapper on Dec. 21, 1932, at Rockford Lutheran church in Rockford, Ill.

He was owner and manager of the Farmers Elevator Co. in Williams for 41 years before retiring.

Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Alan (Sharon) Caruth of Dows; one son, Leonard (Bud) Beisner, Jr., of Little Rock, Ark.; three grandchildren; one sister, Elsa Domres of Cedar Rapids.

He was a lifelong member of the Vernon Lutheran church, having served as a deacon, trustee and council member. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Williams.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, one sister and a grandson.
