Funeral services for John Louis Jansen, 81, who died Tuesday at the Story City Memorial Hospital, will be held Friday, July 15, at 1:30 p.m. at the church east of Kamrar. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation began Thursday morning at the Surls Funeral Chapel in Williams. The Rev. John Middents Jr. and the Rev. Norman FrerKing will conduct the funeral service.

The son of Jacob and Ella Smith Jansen, he was born June 23, 1902, at Blairsburg. He was married to Cora Tapper March 2, 1928, at the Presbyterian parsonage in Kamrar and he farmed in the Williams and Kamrar area. He retired in 1968 and the couple then made their home in Jewell.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Robert Jansen of Mitchellville and Duane Jansen of Williams; and one brother, Albert Jansen of Blairsburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters and three brothers.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kamrar.
