Duane Jansen, 64, Williams, died April 12, 1997, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10. a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Williams, with Rev. Stanley Peterson officiating. Burial will be at Williams Cemetery, Williams. Friends may call at the Surls Funeral Home, Williams, from 4 p.m. - 7.p.m. Tuesday.

Duane Irving Jansen, son of John and Cora Tapper Jansen, was born Nov. 6, 1932, in Kamrar. He was a 1950 graduate of Williams High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On Sept. 27, 1969, he married Mary Lou Ihle in Williams. He had worked for various farmers in the area, at Stonega Elevator, at the Farmers Elevator in Williams, and for the DOT State of Iowa.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; brother, Robert Jansen, Mitchellville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Jansen was a member of the Williams American Legion Post No. 633, Hamilton County Pheasants Forever, St Paul's Lutheran Church in Williams, the National Rifle Association, and was treasurer of the Lost Cord Club.
