Edwin M. Tapper, 74, rural Webster City, died Tuesday, April 26 at the Beverly Manor in Iowa City.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 29 at the Asbury United Methodist Church, with Rev. Vernon Sorensen officiating. Burial will be in Cass Center Cemetery, north of Webster City. Friends may call at the Foster Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Thursday until 10 a.m. Friday.

Edwin Milford Tapper, son of Henry and Cora Koop Tapper, was born March 13, 1914 on a farm near Kamrar. He attended rural schools near Kamrar. On June 14, 1941, he married Norma Gilchrist at Fairbault, Minn. They farmed east of Webster City. For 20 years, he operated the Tapper Spraying Service and he also drove a truck for Walt Tapper.

He was preceded in death by his wife in February of 1984. He retired later that year.

Survivors are one son and two daughters, Lee of Webster City, Linda (Mrs. John) Hilmer of Alice, Texas, Kathleen Tapper of Iowa City; grandsons Kenneth and Mathew Tapper, and Benjamin Hilmer; one brother and two sisters, Henry of Webster City, Cora Jansen of Jewell, Rena Venner of Blairsburg.

Mr. Tapper was preceded by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

He attended Asbury United Methodist Church in Webster City and was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge of Webster City.
