Daily Freeman Journal, Monday, December 20, 1999

Jennie Blue, 93, Webster City, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999 at Southfield Care Center. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. Travis Schmidt officiating. Bunal will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home from 5 to 9 pm. Monday and after 8 30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Jennie Koop, daughter of John and Jennie Welp Koop, was bom August 17, 1906 on a farm east of Kamrar. She attended a rural school in that area. She worked at home with her parents. On March 1, 1936, she married Anthony "Tony" Blue at Kamrar. The couple farmed southeast of Webster City then east of Woolstock for 10 years then northeast of Kamrar. They retired in 1971 and moved to Kamrar. She moved to Southfield in January of 1990. Mr. Blue died Dec 26, 1998..

Survivors are her sons and daughters-in-law, Veryl and Linda Blue, Gary and Alice Blue, all of Webster City, Wayne and Barbara Blue of Kamrar, daughter and son-in-law, llene and Joe Verbrugge, Fort Dodge, 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, sister, Velma Blue of Webster City, and several nieces and nephews..

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Harriet Jansen and Hilka Heeren, brothers, Adolph and John A Koop..

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, a former member of the Kamrar Senior Citizen's and the Independece Friendly Neighbors Club..
