LeRoy John Sleiter, the son of Milford and Violet (Larsen) Sleiter, was born July 10, 1946, in Humboldt, Iowa. He was raised and educated in the area of his birth, graduating from Humboldt High School "Class of 1964". On July 1, 1966, LeRoy was united in marriage with Marjorie DeMots at the United Methodist Church in Goldfield. The couple made their home in Webster City, Goldfield, Eagle Grove and returned to Webster City in 2001. LeRoy worked for Boone Valley/Farmland, VanTec and McDonalds.

LeRoy was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Webster City. He was an avid sports fan and genuine fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs and Minnesota Vikings. LeRoy also enjoyed car races, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved dogs and dogs loved him!

LeRoy passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2014, at the Taylor House in Des Moines at the age of 68 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Marjorie on May 5, 2008.

Survivors include his four children: Lynne Sleiter of Webster City, Jeff Slaiter of Wichita, KS, Lisa Ault (Darren Balsley) of Webster City and Dan Sleiter and wife Kim of Ankeny; 12 grandchildren: Cody Sleiter of Webster City, Tiffany, Ashley, Amanda, Jessica and Jeffrey Sleiter of Wichita, Kansas; Danielle and Andrea Ault of Webster City and Alexis, Andrew, Ryker and Azlyn Sleiter of Ankeny; one great-grandson and sister, Linda Fort and husband Bill of Dakota City.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at Asbury United Methodist Church in Webster City with Pastor Jeff Flagg officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
