Funeral services for John Abbas, 75, will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Charles Hawkins officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

Mr. Abbas died Wednesday morning at Ellen's Convalescent Health Center at Fort Dodge where he had resided the past two years. He had been in ill health the past four years.

John Abbas, son of George and Talka Koop Abbas, was born July 7, 1909 at Kamrar. He was reared and educated at Kamrar and Kanawha, Iowa.

He was married to Hattie Miller on Dec. 25, 1931 at Jewell. The couple farmed in the Dows and Lehigh areas until 1952 when they moved to Webster City where Mr. Abbas was employed at the Morton Frozen Foods Co. until he retired in 1970.

Surviving are his wife, three sons and one daughter, John Abbas, Jr of Wahoo, Neb., Rev. Ronald Abbas of Ventura, Iowa, Mrs. Delbert (Janice) Emerson of Lincoln, Neb., and Donald Abbas of Austin, Minn., 10 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; two brothers and one sister, Ed Abbas of Colorado, George Abbas of Camp Douglas, Wis., and Esther Blair of Webster City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Hemmo and William Abbas, three sisters who died in infancy.

He was a member of the Calvary Baptist church of Webster City.
