Dorothy Abbas, 88, of Webster City, died Monday, August 1, 2005 at the Hamilton Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Calvary Baptist Church, with Rev. Terry Davenport officiating. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and at the church after 9 a.m. Friday.

Dorothy Evelyn Brown, daughter of George and Emma DeJaynes Brown, was born September 11, 1916 at Duncombe. She received her education at the White Fox rural school north of Webster City. On March 27, 1935, she married William Abbas at Webster City. The couple resided at Webster City. She had worked at Southfield Wellness Community for five years. Her main concern was being a homemaker for her family. Mr. Abbas died February 19, 1981. She continued to reside at Webster City.

Mrs. Abbas is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, William and Carol Abbas of South Plainfield, NJ, Larry and Doris Abbas of Duncombe, Jerri Abbas of Woolstock, daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie Abbas of Quilpue, Chile, South America, Sharon Abbas of Webster City, Evelyn and Stephen Schreier of Ida Grove, Marilyn and Bryan Segerstrom of Waterloo, 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, sons, James Leland Abbas, in infancy, Louis Gerald Abbas in 2001, brothers, Ralph, Arthur, Walter, Harry, Russell and George Abbas; sisters, Anna Berg, Rose Bean and Ellen Brown.

She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, a member of the C B C Womens Missionary Fellowship and the church social committee.
