Funeral services for Hattie Abbas, 74, will be held Saturday, April 11 at 3:30 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home with Charles Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 7 p.m. today until the time of service.

Mrs. Abbas died suddenly Thursday, April 9 at her Webster City home.

Hattie Miller, the daughter of Nels and Lela Brainard Miller, was born Nov. 9, 1912 at What Cheer. The family moved to Webster City where she was educated.

She married John Abbas on Dec. 25, 1931 at Jewell. The couple farmed in the Dows and Lehigh areas until 1952 when they moved to Webster City. She was employed at the Morton Frozen Foods Co., until 1970.

Following the death of her husband in February of 1985, she continued to reside in Webster City.

Survivors are two sons and one daughter, John R. Abbas Jr, of Wahoo, Neb., Rev. Ronald Abbas of Ventura and Janice (Mrs. Delbert) Emerson of Lincoln, Neb.; 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; one sister, Hazel Brainard of Fort Dodge; nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
