Joe P. Klaver, 71, lifelong resident of the Kamrar community, died Thursday afternoon at the Hamilton County Public Hospital following an illness of several months.

Funeral services have been set for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Presbyterian church east of Kamrar with Rev. Marvin L. Camp officiating. Burial will be in the Presbyterian cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Foster Funeral Home until 9:30 a.m. Saturday when it will be taken to the church.

Joe P. Klaver, son of Philip and Ricksta Ubben Klaver, was born Nov. 10, 1898 on a farm near Kamrar and was reared and educated in the Kamrar vicinity. He was united in marriage on Nov. 21, 1935 to Minnie Arends and they made their home on the Klaver family farm south of Kamrar until June of this year when they moved into town.

He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lester (Norma) Klaver and Roger Klaver of Kamrar, three grandchildren, Randy, Michelle and Jolyn Klaver, two sisters, Mrs. Adolph (Bina) Trampel and Elsie Klaver of Kamrar, four brothers, Walter and Ben of Kamrar, George of Jewell and Philip of Webster City, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother in infancy and a sister, Mrs. George Barkema in 1967. He was a member of the Presbyterian church.
