Harold O. Arntzen, 75, Webster City died Friday, May 22, at his home. Private services were held at 10:30 a.m. today in the Trinity Lutheran Church Chapel with the Rev. Ray Meltner officiating. Burial was in the Long [Lawn] Hill Cemetery, southeast of Stanhope. Graveside flagfolding services were conducted by the American Legion Post No. 191 of Webster City. Foster Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Harold Obert Arntzen, son of Andrew and Julia (Stark) Arntzen, was born July 2, 1916 at Dexter, Minn. He was educated at Dexter and Red Wing, Minn., later attending St. Olaf College and the University of Minnesota, receiving a business degree. He served with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre during World War II.

In 1938, he married Marion Dellavoe. She died in 1945. He was employed at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Austin, Minn., Des Moines and Oelwein. He moved to Webster City in 1956.

On May 27, 1961, he married Marguerite Eaton at Webster City. He continued his employment with Goodyear, retiring in 1972 after 25 years.

He is survived by his wife, Marguerite; son, Gary Arntzen, Arvada, Colo., daughter, Pam von Mende, Austin, Texas, Susie Arntzen Harond, Binghamton, N. Y.; step-son, David Van Ginkel, Fort Madison; eight grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; six great-grandchilddren; five step-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Jane Ulvig, Fairbault, Minn., and Adell Carlson, Ausin, Minn. In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a life member of Goodyear Wing Foot and a 30-year member of the American Legion Post No. 191.
