Keith J. Vegors, 84, Webster City, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002 at the Plaza Healthcare Center in Scottsdale, Ariz. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002 at Faith United Methodist Church with Rev. Brian Carter and Rev. Mike Morgan officiating. Burial of the ashes will be Monday, Dec. 9, 2002 at Graceland Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #191. There will be no visitation. Arrangements were made with Foster Funeral Home.

Keith Juhl Vegors, son of Vern and Christina "Deda" Juhl Vegors, was born May 3, 1918 at Webster City. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1935. He attended Iowa State University in Ames. On August 19, 1941, he married Lucille Evelyn Bell at Princeton, MO. The couple farmed west and east of Webster City, moving to Webster City in 1968. As a prominent businessman, he owned and operated Vegors Livestock of Webster City and Penney Ranch in Hamilton, MO. Mr. Vegors and his wife wintered in Scottsdale, Ariz., for more than 30 years. Mrs. Vegors died Feb. 26, 1996.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen Jo Peterson of Hurleyville, NY., sons and daughter-in-law, Keith J. and Carolyn Vegors of South Lake, Texas, Kenneth J. Vegors of Scottsdale, Ariz.; grandchildren, Brent & Jenelle Peterson, Leigh Ann Barnett, Tom Luong, Jay and Anne-Marie Vegors; brother, Dr. M. Mason Vegors of Ames; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.

His memberships included Faith United Methodist Church, a 38 year board member of the First State Bank, Elks Lodge, Iowa Cattlemens Association, American Quarterhorse Association, a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps and American Legion Post #191.

Memorials may be given to a scholarship fund established by the Vegors Family for farm youth in Hamilton County.
