M. J. Isebrands, 86, longtime Webster City businessman, died early this morning at Crestview Manor where he had resided since March, 1981. He had been in ill health for several years.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Paul Williamson officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

The family will be at the funeral home Thursday evening from 7 to 8:30 to receive relatives and friends.

Menno J. Isebrands, son of John and Trientje Dirks Isebrands, was born March 25, 1895 in Hardin county.

As a young man, he moved with his family to Sibley, where he was graduated from high school. He attended the Cedar Rapids business college, graduating in 1916.

He was married June 9, 1920 to Anna Boyenga, and the couple made their home at Blairsburg where he served as cashier at the former Farmers Savings bank from 1919 to 1934. In January, 1936, the family moved to Webster City where he engaged in the real estate and insurance business until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Ray (Dorothy) Daum of Bloomington, Minn., and Mrs. Harry (Marian) Daniels of Webster City; five grandchildren, Betty Daum, Dallas, Texas, Mark Daum, Minneapolis, Mrs. Donald (Faye Daniels) Cowell of Altoona, Bob and Doris Daniels, both of Webster City; one brother and one sister, John C. Isebrands of Des Moines and Jennie Buttjer, Rock Rapids, Iowa, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Laura Ann Cowell, his parents, three brothers and three sisters.

He was a member of the Asbury United Methodist church and the Birthday club.
