H. S. TELKAMP DIES AT HOME

Blairsburg Farmer Had Lived in Hamilton County 64 Years

Hiram S. Telkamp, 70, died this morning at 3:15 o'clock at his home, three miles south of Blairsburg. He had been in poor health for some time.

Funeral services are pending. Foster's in charge.

He is survived by five children: Edward H., of Blairsburg; Mrs. C. W. King, of Kamrar, and Jake, Kuno and Peter at home. He also leaves the following brothers and sisters: Herman, of Rogue River, Ore.; R. E., of Montevideo, Minn.; Mrs. George Snell, of Morris, Minn., and J. E., of Lakota.

Hiram S. Telkamp was born May 12, 1867, in Germany and came to the United States with his parents when he was three years old. He was on the boat crossing the Atlantic 72 days.

The family settled in Illinois where they lived for two years and came to Hamilton county, Iowa, 64 years ago. In his youth Mr. Telkamp was a cowboy and cared for from 100 to 300 head of cattle, returning them to their homes each evening.

He was married to Grace DeGroot, who died in September, 1928.

Mr. Telkamp had lived on his farm south of Blairsburg for the past 56 years.
