Adolph J. Koop, 61, a lifelong resident of the Kamrar-Jewell community, died suddenly Friday afternoon at the Hamilton County hospital. His death was attributed to a heart attack.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Presbyterian church east of Kamrar with the Rev. Marvin L. Camp officiating and with burial in the Presbyterian cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Foster Funeral home until 9:30 a.m. Tuesday when it will be taken to the church.

Adolph J. Koop, son of John J. and Jennie Welp Koop, was born Oct. 15, 1908, on a farm east of Kamrar. He was reared and educated in the Kamrar community.

He was united in marriage Dec. 5, 1934, to Treva Skrovig, and the couple had farmed since in the Kamrar-Jewell area.

He is survived by his wife; one son and two daughters, John Iver Koop, of Kamrar; Mrs. Jerry (Twyla) Hall of Bettendorf and Mrs. David L. (Evonne) Phillips of Williams; six grandchildren, Jody, Jeffrey and Lisa Hall, Julie and Jana Koop and Elizabeth Phillips; his father, John J. Koop of Kamrar; one brother and three sisters, John A. Koop of Kamrar, Mrs. Wilke (Hilka) Heeren of Ellsworth, Mrs. Anthony (Jennie) Blue of Kamrar and Mrs. Arthur (Velma) Blue of Webster City; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Koop was preceded in death by his mother and one sister, Mrs. Jerry (Harriet) Jansen, who died in 1965.

Mr. Koop was a member of the Presbyterian church at Kamrar.
