Funeral Services for Former Resident to Be Tuesday Morning.

Mrs. Carrie L. Stebbins, 68, a former resident of Webster City, passed away Saturday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Milton Nelson, in Des Moines. Death was caused by complications and uremic poisoning. She had been in poor health the past two years and had been bedfast for six months.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. at the Foster funeral home. The Rev. Harold W. Putney will officiate and burial will be made in Graceland cemetery.
Carrie Lucinda Corbin, the daughter of Kinsey Corbin and Clara Augusta Corbin, was born Sept. 18, 1873 on a farm in Webster county. When she was still a small girl, the family moved to Kansas where they remained until she was 12 years old.
They returned to Iowa then, locating near Webster City, where she attended school and grew to young womanhood. In 1892 she was married to William Stebbins.
They made their home here until 1913 when they moved to Fort Dodge, where the family lived until Mr. Stebbins’ death in 1936. Since that time Mrs. Stebbins had made her home with her daughter. For many years she had been a members [sic] of the Congregational church.
Mrs. Stebbins was preceded in death by her husband, one son, who died in 1915 and one brother. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Nelson, one grandson, John Nelson, and one granddaughter, Cynthia Nelson.
There are also six sisters, Mrs. William Foley, of Webster City; Mrs. Charles Tackett, Fort Dodge; Mrs. Myrt Stebbins, Hugo, Col.; Mrs. Homer Siler, Rosalia, Wash.; Mrs. Herbert Cole, New Plymouth, Idaho; Mrs. Jessie Chapman, Emmet, Idaho. One brother, Loren Corbin, lives at New Plymouth, Idaho (Kendall Young Library obituary file, Webster City IA, dated 20 July 1942).
