Cummings, Prudence Remington (1839-1883)

Hamilton Freeman, Webster City, Iowa 21 March 1883 Wednesday
Died--Mrs. A. Cummings, of Boone County, daughter of R. D. Remmington and sister to Mrs. Chas Stoddard and Mrs. Wm. Moore of this city and Mrs. D. S. Jewitt of Cass township, died at her home on the 13th. Mrs. Cummings had been afflicted with pulmonary trouble since last fall, and although in feeble health was not considered dangerously sick. Mr. Cummings had sold his farm in Boone county and bought the Remmington place near this city and was preparing to move here when his wife was taken suddenly worse, and died. Prudence A. Cummings was born in Zanesville, Ohio in 1839 and died in her 44th year. She was loved and respected by all who knew her and leaves a husband and several children, and a large circle of friends to mourn their loss. The remains were buried in this city last Friday.
