Monelle Owenson, 71, of Des Moines, passed away Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, at Kava-naugh House in Des Moines. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13 at at Elim Lutheran Church in Randall. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery. There will be a visitation of family and friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 12 at Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City. Memorials may be designated to Hospice of Central Iowa.

Monelle Owenson, 71, of Des Moines, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Kavanaugh House in Des Moines.

Monelle Owenson was born July 28, 1939 to Carlos and Beulah Montegna in Centerville, Iowa. She married Carroll Owenson in 1960. Monelle worked as a cook for Clover Farm Café, Dayton Community Schools, and Grandview Care Center. Monelle enjoyed flowers, feeding birds, cooking, and the change of each season.

Monelle is survived by two sons, Chris (Jenifer) Owenson of Des Moines and Morey (Kathie) Owenson of Waukee; and six grandchildren, Anna, Taylor, Nathan, Jacob, Jenna, and Taylor.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Memorials may be designated to Hospice of Central Iowa.
