Lula Mae Perkhiser, age 81, of Edwards, Missouri, passed away Friday evening, August 27, 2010, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. She was born in Columbia, Missouri, on May 16, 1929, the daughter of Wilford and Myrtle Sanker Brown.

On January 31, 1948, she was united in marriage to Russell L. Perkhiser in Canton, Illinois. Following their marriage they made their home in Roxana, Illinois. In the late 1960's they moved to Webster City, Iowa, where they would live until moving to their lake home at Edwards, Missouri, in 1983.

She was a member of the Colony Baptist Church near their home.

Five and one half years ago she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and fought the battle to finally become cancer free. She was proud to be a "cancer survivor."

Lula was preceded in death by her husband, on September 5, 2003, one daughter, Jill Beehrle in March of 2009, and a sister, Lillian Gillette in January of 2010.

She is survived by three sons, Bruce Perkhiser, and his wife, Fran, of Roxana, Illinois, Wesley Perkhiser, and his wife, Pat, of Omaha, Nebraska, and Brent Perkhiser, of Webster City, Iowa, a son-in-law, Rodney Beehrle, of Dardenelle, Arkansas, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one brother, Bill Brown, and his wife, Mabel Lou, of Astoria, Illinois, one sister, Corinne Seeser, and her husband, Dick, of Clinton, Iowa, other relatives and many friends.

Grave side funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday morning, August 31, 2010, at the Mossy Cemetery near Edwards, Missouri. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, Mo.
