Blanche E. Doty died of natural causes June 19, 2007, at Calistoga Gardens Nursing Center, Calistoga, California. She was 97.

Blanche Edna Forrester was born December 10, 1909, to Harry E. Forrester and Abiah (Spitler) Forrester at Lake Mills, Iowa. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Webster City, Iowa, and received her B.S. Degree from Iowa State University.

She married Charles Everett Doty December 6, 1945, in Hiawatha, Kansas. They lived for many years in the Los Angeles area where she worked as an Administrative Assistant for a plastic surgeon. Upon retirement in 1975 they moved to St. Helena, California. Mr. Doty died September 28, 1995, in St. Helena.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Helen (Mertz) and brothers Paul, Clare, Robert, Harry Jr., and Howard. Many nieces and nephews survive her.

Blanche and “Charlie” as he was known in St. Helena enjoyed making and being friends of people of many ages and interests. Blanche was always ready and willing to share her many life stories and her wisdom and because of this will be greatly missed by her wide circle of friends and her relatives who remain.
