Donna Jean McKeever, age 78, of Clarion passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at the Wright Medical Center in Clarion. Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at the Clarion Church of Christ Congregational, with Pastor Dean Goebel officiating. Burial will take place in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Dows.

Donna Jean McKeever (Owens) was born July 23, 1929 in Olds, Iowa, the daughter of Ira and Ethel Owens. She graduated from Olds High School in 1946 and on October 6th of the same year was united in marriage to Mitch McKeever. To this union four children were born, Christine, Danny, Rebecca, and Karyl. For three years she worked as an operator at the Olds Telephone Company before moving to Dows in 1954. They lived in Dows until 1996 when Mitch and Donna moved to Clarion to live at the Meadows.

Donna spent hours watching sports and movies, enjoyed doing puzzles of all kinds, and loved to watch the birds. She was especially supportive and proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren throughout their many activities and athletic events.

Those thankful for having shared in Donna’s life include her children, Christine and fiancé, Steve of Lake Mills, Danny and wife, Maria of Norfolk, VA, Karyl Bonjour and husband, Chuck of Webster City; nine grandchildren: Rob, Brett, Steven, Caroline, Sonia, Jason, Josh, Caleb, and Paige; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Ballinger and husband, George of Oskaloosa; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Others who shared in Donna’s life, preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Mitch of 50 years; a daughter, Rebecca; her brother, Virgil Owens; and one sister, Mildred Gipple.

Donna will always be remembered for her contagious laughter, her encouraging smile, and her caring and outgoing personality. She will be truly missed.
