Bill Abbas Jr., 67, New Jersey
Word has been received of the death of a former Webster City resident. Bill Abbas Jr., 67, a 1958 graduate of Lincoln High School and resident of South Plainfield, NJ, died Aug.20, 2007 following a courageous battle with cancer.

Bill was born to William and Dorothy Abbas on Aug. 7, 1940 in Webster City. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in New Jersey. He met his future wife, Carol Martin, in New Jersey, and they were married Aug. 4, 1962. To this union, one daughter, Kimberly Ann, was born. Bill worked for General Motors in New Jersey, retiring, retiring in 1992.

His wife Carol, daughter Kimberly and son-in-law, Michael; two grandchildren, Samantha and Alicia, survive Bill. He is also survived by his brother and wife, Larry and Dori Abbas of Duncombe; four sisters, Bonnie Abbas of Quilpue, Chile, Evelyn (Steve) Schreier of Ida Grove, Sharon Abbas of Webster City, and Marilyn (Bryan) Segerstrom of Waterloo, along with four nephews and one niece, and several grand nieces and nephews.

His parents, a brother, Louis Abbas, a brother infancy preceded him in death. Loving in-laws from New Jersey, Washington State and Florida also survive him.

Funeral services were held in New Jersey on Aug. 24. He is going to be greatly missed for his strong faith in God, his way of making friends, and his zest for life. He attended the Branch Point Church.
