Rose Silverstein, 88, died Monday, May 7, 2007 in Las Vegas, NV. Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Iles Funeral Homes-Dunn’s Chapel. Burial will follow at Jewish Glendale Cemetery.

Rose Lebin Silverstein was born August 25, 1918 in Malcom, IA. She lived with her husband, Myer (Mike) and their three children in Webster City, IA for thirty-five years. Rose and Mike enjoyed retirement and traveling to and from their homes in Clear Lake, MN and Mesa, AZ. They enjoyed their family and friends and especially the yearly reunions. She was extremely proud of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and entire extended family. Rose truly lived life to its fullest.

Rose is survived by her husband of 69 years, Mike; her son, Ben (Deborah) Silverstein of Clive; and daughter, Barbara Hockenberg of Detroit, MI. She will also be forever remembered by seven grandchildren, David (Andrea) Silverstein of Urbandale; Jody (Jimmy) Robbins of Gaithersburg, MD; Jamie (Brian) Thomas of Denver, CO; Andrea (Rik) Pohlman of Minneapolis, MN; Jeff Silverstein of Tampa, FL; Cindy (Howard) Lipkint of Las Vegas, NV; and Michael (Sherree) Hockenberg of Detroit, MI. She loved being with her seven great-grandchildren, Colin and Ethan Silverstein; Jessica and Meghan Robbins; Cameron Thomas; Andrew Hockenberg; and Meghan Brooks.

Rose was preceded in death by her son, Ken Silverstein who passed away in June 2005; granddaughter, Judy Brooks who passed away in 2006; her parents, Julius and Esther Lebin; and her sister, Florence Lebin.

For her entire life, Rose was the center of her family and was so loved and respected. She will truly be missed.

The family has requested that memorials be made to the Animal Rescue League of Central Iowa.
