John G. Clum, 81, Webster City, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003 at his home. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Thursday at the Foster Funeral Home.
John Gordon Clum, son of Jess and Mildred Stevens Clum, was born Sept. 24, 1921 on a farm south of Webster City. He received his education from the Ellsworth Schools. On July 27, 1941, he married Beulah Mae Scott at Ellsworth.
The couple farmed in the Stanhope and Webster City areas before moving to Webster City in 1950. He was employed at Arrow-Acme for 33 years, retiring in 1982. Mrs. Clum died Feb. 15, 1998.
Mr. Clum is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, George and Leandra Clum, Webster City; Grandchildren, Rodney Clum of Webster City, Kyle Clum of Mason City, and Staci Goos of Des Moines; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Frances Rose of Ashland, Neb.; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his wife, Beulah, he was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Louise Hulsebus and Edith Good.
Mr. Clum was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. He kept himself busy doing handyman tasks in the community and his church.
