Enid Blecken, 86, Webster City, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003 at Crestview Senior Living. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Foster Funeral Home, with Rev. John Grebner officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service.
Enid Marie Margaret Bingen, daughter of John and Caroline Dix Bingen, was born August 26, 1916 at Marshfield, Wis. She received her education in the Marshfield school system, graduating in 1934. On May 28, 1938, she married Oliver Clifford Blenken at Unity, Wis. They resided in Oshkosh, Wis., then Northfield, Minn. In 1946, they moved to Webster City where they resided for 20 years. They moved to Monmouth, Ill., and returned to Webster City in 1971 following their retirement. Mr. Blecken died March 12, 1993. She moved to Crestview in August of 1996.
Mrs. Blecken is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Rita Blecken, West Des Moines; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Thomas Eling of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Leslie Blecken and Christopher Eling.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Orville Bingen.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
