Ellen Braland

Ellen Matilda Braland, 94, a resident at the Ledges Manor in Boone, died Jan. 9, 1990 of heart failure. Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 12 at 1:30 p.m. at the Church of God of Prophecy in Wichita, Kansas. Burial was in Resthaven Cemetery in Wichita.

Ellen was born in Hamilton County to Ole and Anna (Hapness) Braland. She left Iowa at the age of 60, residing in Wichita, Kansas and Colorado before moving to Story City.

Survivors include a sister, Elvira Rude of Boone; a daughter-in-law, Hazel Braland of Story City; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and newphews.
