OBITUARY
RASMUS O. BRALAND

Rasmus O. Braland, son of Ole and Anna Braland was born November 6, 1884 near Randall and died suddenly from a heart attack at the Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames, July 21, 1963 at the age of 78 years and 8 months.

He was baptized and confirmed in the North St. Petri Lutheran Church.

Most of his life he farmed in the Randall community. He left the farm about 16 years ago to live in Ames where he has been employed by the Collegiate Presbyterian Church.

On December 20, 1911, he was united in marriage to Anna Christina Johnson, who preceded him in death on March 6, 1940.

Survivors include a son, Harris, Ellsworth; two daughters, Angelyn (Mrs. Don Gilchrist) Ames and Opal (Mrs. Perry McCandless) of Warrensburg, Missouri, five grandchildren; one brother, Martin Braland, New London, Minn.; five sisters, Elsie (Mrs. Nels Olson) Randall, Minnie (Mrs. Lewis Henderson)D.M., Ellen, Pittsburgh, Kansas, Lizzie (Mrs. Edward Dietz) Huron, South Dakota, and Elvira (Mrs. Harry Rude) Jewell.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 24, at 1:30 in the Bethesda Lutheran Church of which he was a member with the Rev. Robert Larsen officiating. Mrs. Glenn Accola sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Children of the Heavenly Father". Pallbearers were Andrew Miller, Reuben Miller, Ben Tieg, Walter Tieg, Casper Torkelson, and David Sowers. Interment was in the Mamrelund Cemetery near Randall.
